Headlight Troubleshooting
Need some advice from the lighting experts here as my automotive knowledge is strictly mechanical/performance.
My car got bumped the other day and the only damage done was some visual scuffs on the outside of the headlight housing and that it's been pushed inwards 2-3mm. When I first went for a drive afterwards the headlight was operating normally, no issues. The following day when I went to take the car out the headlight housing showed some condensation on the inside and now my low beam doesn't work which clearly triggered an error code. So now my question is, what is the best thing to do here? Clearly the seal isn't great given there is moisture in the housing, but could I simply remove the housing, let it dry out, repair the seal and replace the low beam? Do I have replace the entire headlight assembly which is quite costly from what I see now? The turn signal indicator and the daytime running lights work just fine still and I am sure I could remove the front bumper, re-position the headlight and buff the lens back to normal but that low beam out and moisture are my primary concern. Any advice on how to approach this dilemma would be helpful. Thanks! |
