Asked the same question to my BMW man and he said that they (BMW) use the most inspiring colour from a survey for promotional purposes. My wife drives a Imolar red X5 4.6(still a stunning looking car, gets heaps of comments) they used the same colour also. ( didnt know any of this or had seen any promo's for any before I bought either car) I just liked the colours.

Yep
I think that Sedona is pretty good choice.

The hero colour is always a good choice IMO, I had a deeb blue pearl VW R32 and now the AW in the M3. It is sometimes a model specific colour too, like Melbourne Red and others in the M3 range. Speaking of which, I would have chosen Melbourne Red in a 135 if it was an option.

I may be wrong, but from what I've seen the Melbourne red on the new M3's is very similar to the Crimson red on the 135's  Melbourne looks just a little darker, both are very nice

Melbourne Red is a nice colour, as is that M5 colour Sepang Brown or something.

Enjoy.
Sedona Red was the 'launch colour' so that's why most of the marketing is of that colour. I chose my colour based on the pictures and videos I had seen in the BMW brochures. Over the last few months I have been having constant crises about whether I made the right choice... But I'm glad I didn't cave in and change it.

I just went for a walk around our carpark (I work for BMW) and there is an X6 xdrive50i (god that's a stupid naming convention) in Vermillion Red parked next to a 120i vert in Sedona Red.

The Vermillion Red is gorgeous. A bit deeper red than the Sedona and it doesn't have that orange tint. But the Sedona also looked excellent and possibly a bit more interesting as it is not a traditional red. I'm very happy with my choice (again).

I'm an SAP Consultant. I moved to Belgium with my partner (an Aussie) who works for Mazda Europe. I thought we had too many Mazdas in our lives so I managed to score an 18 month contract with BMW Belgium Luxembourg.

So I'm in IT/Accounting. And I have a big shiny carpark filled with about 250 BMW's to look at every day

SAP is an ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) system. We love our acronyms. Basically it's an integrated piece of software for accounting, logistics, sales, distribution, HR, materials management, purchasing etc etc.

It's German and therefore very serious  Quite big in Australia also but massive here. I first used it when I worked at Lonely Planet in Footscray. The entire BMW Group is migrating to the new version of SAP at the moment which is why they need people like me.

And, if he's like any other SAP consultant (always pronounce it S.A.P, by the way, they hate it pronounced like the stuff that oozes from trees) he's well paid :-)

Indeed I do. FI & CO modules in fact. With a dash of SD & MM.
