Nah, I don't believe this is the case. I suspect they are referring to the proposed/retuned N55 engine in M2 (N55B30T0) as a detuned version of the S55 in M3/M4 (S55B30T0). If this is true then the M235 engine (N55B30O0) is a detuned version of the M3/M4 which is clearly incorrect.

It's a higher powered version of the N55, also to be used in the X4 M40i. There will be no adaptive suspension in the M2 to keep weight down

I prefer the looks of the M4 and I'm sure most can afford an M2 or an M4. But for me, the M2 is a better recipe for more fun. Shorter wheelbase and less weight = more fun for a daily and slightly better value.
It will be interesting to see the M2 completely unveiled. |
