Bov question

Hi I currently have a 2007 bmw 335i with mods such as jb4, dci, downpipe, exhaust. I am kind of new to this due that I recently bought the car and with everything on it. For a while the car was driving perfect and then i started to notice the half engine light came on and of course the lack of acceleration etc. So i took it to bmw to find the problem and they told me that the fuel pumps and fuel injectors were bad and they replaced them. I don't have warranty but they did the fuel pumps for free and i paid for the injectors. But he told me that i have a boost leak at the bov and recommended me to by an aftermarket one. My concern is that i ordered an ETS intercooler and i wanted to know if to put the bov i needed to get the ETS charge pipe, or is it possible to use the stock piece? I am thinking between synapse and tial...

Thanks

Your car does not have a BOV stock. It has diverter valves stock. The ETS intercooler piping should hook up to the stock charge pipe / aftermarket charge pipe in the same place regardless so that shouldn't be an issue.

The ETS intercooler will mount up the the stock charge pipe w/diverter valves. Since you're wanting to run a BOV, might as well get the ETS charge pipe and whatever BOV you want. You will not be able to install a BOV to the stock charge pipe.

There IS a warranty to at least 100k mi on the above....why'd they charge you for injectors?

Ok so do you think that new diverter valves will solve the problems? If so which ones do you recommend ?

The fuel pumps have warranty to i believe 100k miles but the fuel injectors are not included. They replaced 4 of them because he said there was a build up of something im not really sure lol. But as soon as i drove my car off the lot i felt an immediate difference, it was more responsive and just running way better.

For the Stock Charge pipe you can get Forge DV.

Or as others mentioned you can upgrade your charge pipe and go to a BOV if you prefer.

Thanks !! And is there any preference on what is better. Charge pipes and bov, or just diverter valves. Im assuming getting the charge pipe and bov is better.

The aftermarket charge pipes have a large diameter piping for better flow. A BOV or DV has no difference in performance they just hold boost better. BOV makes more noise then DV.

My other question is that I still get the half engine light from time to time, is that normal with the jb4 ? I was told that upgraded dv or bov would stop it, is that true? Has any one ever had the same problem?

Thanks

It should cure it if that's the ONLY issue. I had a nasty boost leak and recieved the half check engine light and a misfire code . Never seen it again after I've installed mines.
