Intake valve walnut blasting

Hi people. I have an n54 135i coupe and have just had my intake valves walnut blasted by SWSS Mini in Cardiff. First off I have to give a shout out to the guys at SWSS. They did a brilliant job with great customer service and were a really friendly bunch of guys; something I think that has been lost in recent years when it comes to car mechanics! The price was also very good considering the time it takes to do the job.

So the pictures below show the before and after. The difference on the road is very positive. My car has around 69000 miles on it and the engine now revs more freely and has a much crisper exhaust note.

As you can see the results speak for themselves.

Happy to answer any questions. ☺

Well I had it done as a stand alone service and the difference was massive. Having had all those other mods at the same time must have been mind blowing!

That must have been something! Is there a reason you guys in the states all go for piggy back tunes ie Cobb, JB4 ect rather than a 'proper' ecu remap with rolling road etc?

My bad but question still stands for the JB4. It seems very popular. What are the advantages of a Cobb over the aforementioned old school remap?

Cobb plugs into the obd port. Jb4 installation is more complicated. There's a lot of good threads here to search. I wish I were knowledgable and could give you a better answer.

No worries. I'm not that versed on the whole things either.
Were your intakes as bad as mine when you got them blasted?

The original price was £299. Did a bit of haggling and got it down to £250. I was their first n54 customer and they were keen to get my business, which is why they dropped the price so much. A BMW dealer in Bristol quoted me "around £400-500"!!
