Nothing wrong with having your parents buy you a new BMW. I would have been stoked out of my mind to be 18 with a new Bimmer. Good on him. But it also feels good to buy my own at 28.

Actually, that's how I paid for my car. I was 18 and had 20k in stocks and another 5k in the bank. Bought my 2006 VW GTI.
