Yes,I've ask it to Vishnu and they confirm that 335i procede is the same for 135i.Also AA confirm that:wink:

I'd say so. I drove the 328 and it pulls much harder than you would expect it to. The 128 can only improve things a bit.

This alone should make the break in period a LOT more fun, and easier to deal with.

98 Octane in Europe is equal to 93 here in the States... they use a different formula to measure octane than here...

Actually as I've mused previously, are we seeing 8psi peak? The tech document sticky talks about the N54 allowing .8 Bar overboost. That's 11 lbs. Horsepower numbers for turbo engines are very dynamic and dependent on variables like ambient temperature, engine temperature, humidity, altitude, octane variations, load characteristics, and on. As I read the tech document, it seems to me that peak allowed boost is really 11lbs. Whether various testers see that or not is dependent on conditions.

Some piggy-back devices, to my understanding, do nothing more than spoof a false input value (eg intake air temp) to the ecu, which then allows more boost than would ordinarily develop.

Given all this, we should expect to see a wider variation of horsepower and torque numbers than we did in the pre-turbo (and especially pre electronic engine management) days.

when is there gonna be a SAE or STD dynojet on this 135i or did i miss that already. hard to compare of even associate these numbers from a dynopack. it is measured at the hubs and can be configured many ways. u cannot predict a drivetrain loss without knowing the setup the dyno was in. this is much easier done with a dynojet setup properly. usually, again not sure how this was setup, dynopacks read higher most of the time.

in my experiance hp losses through the drive train are more of a static figure that a dynamic shift. a car will generaly lose a specific ammount of power through the drive train and as hp increases the drivetrain loss remains mostly the same. my miata for instance is well known to lose 28-30hp to the wheels in its non turbo form. even with 130whp over the standard car I am still not losing more than 35hp to the wheels. drivetrain losses in the 135i should be in the 30-40hp range. a corvette loses 40-50hp and I would imagine that the 135i drivetrain is more efficent.

I postualte that the output of the N54 is in the range of 315-320 with 325-330 lbft of TQ.

only an engine dyno will say for sure

279hp at the wheels translates to just over 320hp at the crank, using 15% loss. :roundel:

And just to follow up, my 04 C32 AMG (auto) listed at 349hp pulled 288 rwhp on a dynojet. My 96 Mustang Cobra, rated at 305hp pulled between 260 and 265rwhp on a dynojet. The 135i motor is definitely under-rated by BMW
