NEED HELP: 1M Replica Bumper on 128i
I think a lot of 1ers have retrofit the 1M replica bumper (I means some thing from Ebay) on 128i or 135i. I did it last week.
I don't know if it's the problem only on 128i or not. The bumper and splash shield does not fit so well (4cm difference in vertical). Same as the side splash. Give me some suggestion. Thank you so much |

The splash guard won't fit. I had to leave mine off for now. Planning on fabricating something to take its place this weekend. Or you can buy 1M splash guards (I'm told) but I don't think it's necessary if you're handy enough to mount your own 1M replica bumper. Hope that helps.

Unfortunately, I ran into several other issues. One unrelated, but the headlights are now getting moisture inside the unit. I will need to remove the bumper to see what is causing the condensation. Once I get that figured out, I will be able to work on the splash guard and let you know.

It's headlight fogging. I think you get the DEPO headlight which do not have anti-fogging coating in it. Don't worry. When the waether get warmer, it will be OK.

That's interesting. I've had the car for 4 years and never had that problem until the day I got the car back with the M bumper. I'm not completely sure it's unrelated to the install and it being an aftermarket part.
Note: it also did not fog when I replaced both the angel eyes or the blinker bulbs with LEDs. |
