Neww Tii decals cut for my front bumper. Need feedback?
Hey folks...I had some Matte black Tii declas cut for the front bumper and rear bumper. 3.5 inches tall and 9.5 inches wide. The decals are going on BSM. Really wanted to put the matte black stripes on the hood etc. too. What do ya'll think. I had 4 cut just for the hell of it. Picture is below...
I will probably put them on anyway just to see. I don't want anything the really sticks out that is why I went with black on black. -todd |

I have it on my AW. The stripe is actually sitting in the trunk because I havent had time to put it on yet and the performance side skirts will be ordered some time in the spring
and you do know the front Tii is backwards and the one in the rear is normal right? |

Where did you get the tii decals made?
Some blond backed into my left front damaging the bumper that has the white tii decal on it. She had an suv the size of a single family house and said gee how did that happen my back up alarm never went off.
I can not find the outfit that sold them to me 2 years ago. I will need to have a replacement custom made... Where did you do yours?

How is a tii badge J-Spec? The tii was the initial presumed upgrade to the 135i.
http://www.caranddriver.com/news/bmw...ept-auto-shows And is a mark of respect to the 2002tii. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BMW_2002tii |

BMW did it first
You are right - and BMW made the comparison first suggesting that the 2002 and in particular the 2002tii was the 'heart' inside a 135i.

My apologies, I was being a smart a$*. I just look at it very simplistically, if the USDM model was a supposed to have any label/badge of tii they would have put it on the vehicle... The vehicle came with a 135i badge; it's not a M, it's not a tii, it is in fact a 135i though. I think it would be rather lame if someone placed a 1M badge in their 135i, even if they made the correct up grades to the suspension and HP to mimic a 1M. The reason I mentioned "j spec" is because during the early and mid 90's when "honda tuning" was huge, every lame that did some sort of minor modification placed a "j-spec" sticker on their car.
It's just my opinion.. I say keep it real! Besides, I'd never want to put "kiddie stickers" on my nice adult persons car... Again, just my opinion. |

Actually BMW DID put the Tii badge on the 135i. It was shown at several shows and exhibits. Just never sold to the public.
I wasn't aware there was something 'childish' about the Tii designation. I feel quite adult in mine. A balance of keeping it real and personalization....

It was part of the "Heart Of The 1-Series" show promotion. Don't know if it was ever even considered a concept...

It's been 4 years of nothing but positive comments and requests to show the car in local club events etc. The dealer's part department staff always come out when I bring it by to purchase oil change materials and comment positively.
But - to each, his own. You will be recorded as the first negative comment. (not to say others may have hated it and not said a word).

From looking at the pictures, this "tii" concept is a 135i with all the BMW exterior performance options... I had this same discussion a couple of years back when I owned a G35. I had the full NISMO kit on it, and every NISMO part that could be bought; I took the G35 badge off and replaced it with a 350GT badge. I immediately had to dawn my flame retardant suite when my "older" friends/colleagues saw it. I thought it looked slick... but after having to explain what the badge was all the time(which I'm sure you have had to) I began to think about what my friends/colleagues were saying. Now I'm to the point where I'll de-badge or leave stock. |
