Need advice.
I bought a 2009 135i 3 weeks ago.The car was registered on july 2010.So its almost brand new.I bought it with 2425kms.It now has 3200kms.The brakes are squeaking non stop.I call budds and they want to charge me to fix this problem.Am i missing something.I will pay if necessary but this seems unreasonable.

Get the car up to speed and stop hard. Do this a number of times. Sounds as if your pads have been glazed (my guess is you're not getting any brake dust on your wheels?).
Or...the previous owner (or you) have been driving with your foot on the brakes and are at the squealer bars, however, then the car should be reporting a warning that you need new brakes. BTW, what is the car showing in the Service Info screens for front and rear brake pad life?

One thing I have heard from "used" car dealer:
If car sit in the open lot for more than 1 month with hand brake pulled, the brakes will get f'ed up. It might be some brake fluids problem? Kcc

Have the dealer clean the pads under warranty. This topic has been well covered and if the hard braking doesn't work, it's the pads. Dust accumulates in the pads. I had the same problem and the tech took it out and agreed the pads were the problem, and then they were cleaned and the problem was 95% solved.
They will come and go in the life of the brakes. It's "normal". |

I think you have every right to complain. Used or not the car's brakes are faulty and need some kind of adjustment. If it's normal in all their 1 series that's not your problem. You paid a lot of money for your car expecting not to have a "Hyundai" type quality issue. BMW shouldn't even argue.
