trunk lid reflector/brake light starting to detach
Hi Guys,
The thin reflector/brake light on my 120d Coupe is starting to come off on one of the sides. Is there any glue/epoxy you guys recommend? Obviously it needs to be suitable for both metal and plastic and be ready for temperatures ranging from ~-10C to ~30C and rain. Here is a picture of it. Thank you all |

Replace the light! It'll probably save you a headache of trying to glue it down. I think it's time to replace it. It's relatively inexpensive and you can DIY!

I think the light is about $30-$40. Glue is cheap but you might ruin your paint and it may not work. And then when the light does crack, you'll have a hard time removing the glue without removing paint.

No problem!!! Hahaha. I'm surprised you didn't even think about it until now! Warranty would be the first thing on my mind!
Good stuff. They should replace it completely free because it is a common issue among the 1 series third brake lights.

Hey guys, I am almost positive that I've read this was a recall on a handful of different years...but I guess if your warranty is taking care of it, no worries!!

Yes! Warranty will take care of it and even if you're out of warranty, it is relatively cheap (for a BMW part), to replace.

Even if the car is out of Warranty, BMW should take it since it is a known issue
