pay the $80 its worth and move on?
Its not a warranty complaint - at best its a comprehensive claim on your insurance. |

Comprehensive was made for this - you hit road debris, that and vandalism are what comp insurance is for. Its not a warranty issue. Why would you expect them to cover it? |

Like i said before, i called the dealership and told them i had a crack do to an unknown cause, and they said "bring it in, we will take a look, and decide whether to cover under warranty or not". So it's a 50-50 chance.

If you're going to do something morally (and probably legally) dubious at least keep quiet about it..... |

Actually no I'm not embarrassed at all. Since this is a community, I thought I would ask. The truck in front of me suddenly had something drop, I swerved just in time, but my diffuser got hit. Some dealerships actually cover that sort of thing. For example, I was driving my Mercedes ml500, and this rock hit the hood of the car. Took it to the Mercedes dealership, told them the situation and they said "no problem". Got it fixed with no charge. So I have no intention to do anything illegally if that's what your thinking. The biggest factor is them blaming the exhaust on the crack, which is why I am hesitant to take it to the dealership.
