GOO on window
Ok, I could not find anything about this trying search. When I roll down my windows, it leaves streaks, like glue is under there and it smears it down. I have to scrub it all off each time. My passenger window is worse. My first thought was the window sticker, goo left behind, I still think it may be it. Maybe it's on the felt, I have no idea, but Its starting to get to me. I wash my car, then forget and roll the window down later, and it looks like I've not washed my windows. Has anyone else experienced this? I hate the thoughts of taking my car into service for this and have my doors ripped open!

hmm, it seems like you rolled your windows down while there was something on it (bird crap, a dirt mark, rain drops, etc, etc) and it somehow got stuck on the inside of your door. i really don't know what else it could be.

I'm gonna say that goo is probably the protective wax that BMW puts on vehicles during transportation. There is a picture on here somewhere that shows a lot of vehicles with the wax on them, let me look for it...

From what I have read here on this forum, most people say it eventually will drain out with rain and water seeping down in there. Most people have had a similar situation but in a different location of the vehicle; refer to this thread http://www.e90post.com/forums/showth...&highlight=wax

That is exactly what it is. BMW uses a hot kerosene bath (car wash) to remove the protective wax (cosmoline). The run off from has followed the same path as rain. Nothing you can really do about it. My car has the same problem. |

Your car requires several car washes till eventually goo will be completely gone. This process depends on how often you wash your car, i've heard in other posts on this site stating 3~5 really good car washes does it. My car still drips goo, very visible on my Alpine White E90. I'm guessing a few more car washes till this stuff is totally gone.

The 350Z's problem could only be fixed by the dealer. If it continues, maybe a good idea to have it checked out by dealer. Good luck and let us know how it turns out. |

I can't imagine something waxy inside my door actually going away with water running in there. Maybe it's a different wax that I'm used too, bacause normal wax don't just wash away

Have you asked the dealer for any input?

Well the crap is still GOO'ing on my passenger window, you would think by now it would be GONE for good. I hate the thoughts of taking my car to the dealer and having my doors busted open. I am going to tint my windows soon, I hate the thoughts of goo and streaks on my windows. I have tried to clean the felt, but that didn't work. I must be the only one on this forum with goo left behind

It's probably the wax. If not (okay, get ready to say eeeew) it's probably because guys have been over admiring your car and they were standing near the window when they achieved maximum admiration.

I don't know what it was from, but it would create a long streek (bottom to top) of waxy-like-gooey substance which could be wipped off, but you needed alot of elbow greece to do it. I just left it, and stopped opening my windows :-) It only happened on the passenger side. Is yours on the inside or outside? |

They probably missed a bit of the wax, and when the window was opened it got wiped onto the outside rubber seal, and a bit wipes off each time you close the window.
You could probably open and close it a number of times, each time wiping off whats on the window and see if it gets less
