BMW Performance Brakes
My 135i needs new brakes (the whole lot) and I have been offered a full set of BMW performance brakes in gold for $2,500 inc gold calipers etc. They look pretty cool but I'm wondering if anyone has had these fitted and opinion of them. Also I'm wondering if the gold calipers will clash with my sedona red duco? I cant seem to find any pics of this combination.
Cheers |

Hey Simon, I realise this, but I need new rotors and pads all round and to upgrade just the rotors to the perf ones its gonna be this kind of price anyway?
I just want to make sure the pedal feel is the same with the perf rotors. Last edited by thezone135i; 02-27-2015 at 04:05 AM.. |

Sounds a little over priced, ECS stock various rotor options, or speak to Racebrakes or similar locally.

Id rather not say where just yet. I would rather stick to oem. I put RB.com 2 piece rotors and their "special" pads on my gti and the pedal feel was shit.

135i Brakes
Im also up for a new set of brakes for my 135i ! First set - 70kkms. how many kms did your original ones last you ?
Found this local site which will sell Zimmerman Discs and pads ( front and rear ) incl wear sensor for $695AUD delivered. Discs are the same part number as those stocked at ECS.com Are Zimmerman pads reliable - wear ok ? Im thinking of getting the Discs + sensors $470 del. and purchasing OEM pads from BMW, as I'm satisfied with 70kkms from the first set ! Unless anyone knows of better/ inexpensive pads ? |

Forgot to add before the hijack, but I have the BMWP brakes on mine and they look awesome. Can't say I've seen them on Sedona red but I'm sure they'd look fine. That price you are getting them for is great when you factor in that you get fresh OEM calipers, OEM pads, OEM discs and the brake wear sensors in addition to being able to recoup some of the cost by selling the old calipers to someone with a 125i or 130i looking to upgrade.
My advice would be to go for it. Too many people see this as a $2500 "upgrade" when it fact you're just paying for a brake job and a caliper paint job in reality and the price after selling the old calipers is the same or better than just buying all new OEM replacements.

checked with ECS tuning, and Turner Motorsport and with a 0.77 conversion rate, these guys seem quite competitive ! Mind you there was an additional USD$400 charge for shipping with the US based shops. Mileage for first set of brakes + better pad options anyone ?? |

i bought Cool Carbon pads, never again. They are extremely noisey! To the point where people stop and stare. Squeal like a biatch!
Can't wait to get rid of them. Lack of brake dust has been awesome though. |
