Ventilated seats are my holy grail. I think the cheapest / smallest BMW you can option them in is a 5 series though. If I could get a black leather ventilated sport power driver's side seat with blue stitching... well I think I may hyperventilate from excitement.

Be still my beating heart!
Less worried about a ventilated butt, and moreso a ventilated back though. Needs more pipe!

Finally got around to grabbing a bike rack for my 1 last week and mounting it now that my baby is back. Pretty impressed with the quality and ease of install/removal.
I wanted to mount the bike rack on the driver side more than anything, but also wanted my bike facing forward, and while the rack reverses and mounts fine, it's near impossible attaching the bike to it because of chainring clearance with the bike frame holder arm, so I eventually gave up and just reversed it back to stock and mounted it on the passenger side, but here's a pic driver side. And with the bikey. I haven't taken the bike out on the rack yet, but it feels damn stable, at least with the car parked. I am driving around with the cross bars and I don't hear much air noise until about 55mph, which is pretty good. Plus the cross bars look good on the 1 IMO. |

motorchimp,
Nice looking bike and rack. That's one thing I wish I had that I wasn't thinking about when I decided to get the convertible. Always have to take the SUV when riding. What I need for the 135is is a roll cage that I can mount a bike rack to when the top is down. IEDEI, Could you sketch that out for me so I can see what it might look like? |

Thanks! I had such a thing for the boxster, it was made by Porsche and fit on the front pillars and then behind the top on the sides, it was a great design and could be used top up or down which was great driving with your bike on top of you with no roof at 70 mph =)
I don't know of any made for the 1. IEDEI might architect you one though.

Revised to utilize the near-useless drivers side vent to push air to the seat back.

One can also hold onto the cross bar with one arm through the sunroof while driving. That's all I've actually used the rack for so far. Made me feel totally bada$$ while my wife said I looked ridiculous But yes the OEM rails and bike rack are awesome, I also saw the same bike rack that BMW rebrands from Thule at the local outdoors store for almost twice what I paid! ha!

lol....well that would work too....although my ventilation was geared more towards the scrotum while yours is heard towards the spine. a difference in philosophy perhaps???

+1, Love CCW's. And for some reason, I think the E82 is the only "modern" BMW that looks good with them. Perfect blend of old and new.

Guys, if you had little mod money, what would you buy?
$710 on alcantera M steering wheel with blue stripe $350 Schroth Quick fit harnesses and maybe another $250 for passenger side (non-Pro) $1200 on Performance Suspension I'm considering harnesses so I can use the car for light track duty when my Z is in shop. |
