Just thinkin' out loud here, is it a good idea to be publishing your production #?

Why not? What can someone gain with a production#?

I don't know. Just asking. Hackers can be quite skilled at cracking personal info. :iono: For what it's worth, your guy's #'s are considerably lower than mine.

The disparity in production numbers doesn't mean anything really. These numbers are for all cars (ie. 1,3,5,6,7 & X models) I believe.

It is real easy to register your production number on BMW OC. I am not giving mine out, I do not want someone to snake me from viewing my status. I am just paranoid though as well.

If you are the first to register it, then it's not a problem

ok, call me stupid, but how do you know that?? All I find on the BMW website is that my order has been accepted. don't see anywhere that tells me when production is scheduled. does that mean I am way behind yours, or that my dealer should have told me?:iono:

Do you know your production date by any chance? I have been rendered paranoid by other posts about showing my production number , but I am a few cars lower than you . . . Timing has to be real close, though

^^^ it was on the order sheet that the dealer sent to me when my order was received by BMW AG. The production date might change, hence I said tentatively scheduled for production.

Ahh. I just remembered this thread.

Izzodesh, my car is an Alpine White 135i with prod number 3894099. I thought I would be close to chriskurn's car in the assembly line when i noticed the close number in his sig, but I bet our cars will be in formation, seeing they are only 2 apart, and the same color/model. :w00t:
