Key fob buttons don't work
I have a 2009 135i with convenient access and 2 fobs. One fob is 100% functional. The second fob works for convenient access (unlocking/locking doors by touching door handle, starting engine, trunk, etc) but if I use the buttons nothing happens. I have replaced the battery. Not one button works, even standing right next to the car.
Any ideas? I have yet to dismantle the fob. Perhaps the button contacts are dirty but it is surprising to me that none of them work at all. Thanks! |

Did you wash the fob with your clothes ? It happens.
Put the key fob in a jar with some dry rice... put the lid/top on and let it stand over night. Then try the fob. The rice will absorb any water inside the key fob. Otherwise your gonna need a new fob at ~$400.

It's definitely not worth $400 for me right now. I am the only driver so I only really need the one fob; the other is basically a backup and it still does the most important things. |
