Not to rain on your parade, but if he's added the Performance Kit to his (I suppose automatic) 135i, he'd get 320hp, 332 lbft.
That compares (on paper) very well to the 1M's 335hp, 332–370 lbft.
If he's not a car guy and never takes it to a track, will he see any difference?

If he's the badge whore type, he's still a moron if he claimed that he owns a 1M.

Even if he's not a car guy and he doesn't feel a difference between a 1M and a Performance Kit 135 then he should've bought a Jag... ;-)

I've had both and the 1M is a completely different animal in the feel department.

Looks like my CA was not informed about BMW not releasing any more allocations. He's still telling me he can get one as soon as BMW release another allocation to him LOL. All this time I though I was in line for a real allocated car. Soooooo, any leads?

Looks like the last ones went out awhile ago... The only ones left are above MSRP or you can always keep calling around to the 100's of dealers and maybe land one that people back out of.

There are used ones too being posted.

I find it disturbing that they post an internet price and other dealers have/had msrp adverstised, then I called and they are asking 5k over. obviously that is false advertising. BUT how do they think that is ok.

How about a dealership (whom I won't name) that I recently visited and was told that the incoming car they have, which is not sold or reserved yet, can only be reserved for a mark-up of $20,000 above MSRP. I had a hard time not actually saying "LOL" out-loud, instead of containing it to just my head.

lol its ok those stupid dealers won't get anywhere near that. Unless your in a very very affluent area you went sell these cars for that much $$. Even in the most affluent areas the highest I've seen is $10K and $15k over msrp. a lot of dealers in the middle of no where have tried to get $10K over and than after the car sitting for a month they decided to sell for near msrp.

Sonnen BMW: 10k over
Concord BMW: 10k over

Me thinks the BMW dealers are loving this strategy of limiting supply. BMW customers, not so much...

Looks like dealers were obligated to sell at no more than MSRP in order to receive 1M allocations.
But once the allocation was announced over, it's each man for himself and all is fair game.
That would explain the (unethical few) dealers pulling sold cars from customers under the excuse that "the general manager wants it for himself".
Yeah, for him to sell at a premium over MSRP.
