Is time on my side?

Hello everyone!! n00b her
I have been reading this great site for a couple months and checking out all the pros and cons of the 1er.
Im looking at 2 vehicles to purchase, the 1er or a Tundra. Gas prices are getting out of control. The tundra is fading fast. The 1er is looking better everyday.
However, I like to think time is on my side. In this order, 1. Waiting for a sunroof delete. 2. Waiting for the tti edition, 3. Waiting for a club sport edition, 4.waiting for the M135?!?!?!?. 5. I dont like to buy first year or sometimes even the second year of production.
I have visited 2 dealerships and they have too many 128 verts and loaded up 135's... Ohh, them snabbiatch sales people.
I want a bare bones car. 135-AW, w/t sport package, leatherette/aluminum trim, Hi-fi and ipod connection(maybe comfort access-playing tennis with this one) The less the better. I know this from when i ordered my 99.5 Audi A4 B5.
Nice talking to ya, waiting ready to strike:roundel:

If you don't mind me asking, why are you cross shopping a coupe and a pickup truck? Seems like two very different transportation needs.

Of the things you mentioned, only the tii edition is likely to happen, I think.

If you want a bare bones model, why not place an order? While avoiding buying a model in it's first year may be prudent, where's the fun in that? :-)

Sure,

The Tundra is need it for towing boats-campers. Also it makes it so much better to load the Ducati in back of it and go. Not having to use a trailer(s).
My Jeep GC is the swing vote. It can tow like a champ for an small SUV but needs the trailers all the time. Also going on to beaches for fishing etc is a huge for me. The Jeep rocks off road with solid axles.

So its Tundra-towing/hauling/offroad-, Audi quattro Dailydriver-, Ducati when i wanna go realy fast anywhere anytime!

or Jeep GC-towning/hauling/using 2-3types of trailers/offroading hardcore-, Audi quattro dailydrive-, BMW 1er weekend driver/some Daily drive on nice days-, Ducati- when i wanna get lost really fast & be the fastest kid on the block.

and........factor in the F***ing Gas prices
and .......factor in the Gf hates the Ducati

Cuz5150... I'm in the same boat as you are. Well, I have a paid-off 2003 tundra 4wd. I love the performance and the looks of the 135i. I'm contemplating on how computer-controled the new cars are. The BMW ECU is basically a black box, that logs almost about everything... including when you disconnect the battery. Basically, you are at the mercy of the car dealer technician if anything goes wrong. I've been look at the 135i and a Thunderranch 356 kit car.

I thought one of the other threads discussing tii was saying tii was going to be released with the next generation 1 series in 2011.

I doubt they are going to do any kind of facelift for 3 year production car. But maybe 1er coupe will be 2 years late like 3er, so you will probably wait 5 years from now.

Ok......i have been a little misunderstood here! And you guys are taking shots!! What i mean by refresh was that in 09- Maybe/I hope* they'll change wheels/headlights/tail lights/spoilers.......change something in the interior...etc and F**ing offer a sunroof delete
At the same time, if nothing happens towards the 09 model, Then i would be a bottom feeder and pull the trigger on a 08 left over model and save a few bucks........This is also the plan for the Tundra!!
Are we on the same page here now, boys and girls?
Thanks for listening!:roundel:

Look at the most recent cupholder thread and you'll see evidence they don't have all the production kinks sorted out.

whats the point in getting the 135i if you're only gonna drive it on the weekends? if you're getting a "weekend" car, you could get something that makes much less compromise to be daily-drivable. ie, two seats, lower, less "comfortable".

do you really need 3 cars and a bike?

if you get the 135i, you should replace the audi.

Compromise is the 2 wheels. Yes i need 3 cars, I like my toys:w00t:
The Audi will be fased out as it gets older. It only has 69K mikes.
I'll will turn it in to a track only car. By then the 1er would be my Daily Drive.

A Tundra or a 135i HAHA. What a contrast. The 5.7 liter Tundra Crewmax 4x4 does 0-60 in 6.2. Thats fast for that huge thing.

You bet, one of the many reasons why I keep an eye on the tundra too. TRD is releasing a supercharger bolt on for $5000. A 12second 1/4 mile stock truck with warranty is nothing to sniff at.
I would have to start drilling for oil in my back yard though...LOL
