1-series sedan?
Is there going to be one? Recent rumors, spyshots anyone? Read recently an article from a motoring magazine featuring 1-series coupe and a strong suggestion was made that a sedan would be on its way.. Would that kill the demand for the hatchback then.. hmm.. Been driving my 120d coupe now for one month and I am VERY pleased indeed with it. The consumption seems to be about 5,7litres/100km, just can´t get it above that even how hard I try

I doubt it. The wheel base is so short I think that a 4 door would look weird. I have however seen some rumors about a 2 series possibly coming for model year 2010. Perhaps that will be the sedan?

Well .. seeing how size wise, it is about the same as a mazda 3, I think that it could be done .. not sure that BMW will do it though.

I would really really love a sedan (NOT the hatchback) as I've gotten used to 4 doors in my E46, but I don't think it will happen. They risk cannibalization of 3 series sales if they come out with that, imo.

I would love to see them change their mind and offer the 2 door coupe and 4 door hatch for the 2nd generation of the 1. I'd be happy even if it weren't a 135. 123d? IMO, BMW should have made 1 series a 5dr hatch and 2 series the coupe. Leave it open for an M2 and not worry about the whole M1 name thing.

sedan makes no sense in NA. A 5dr hatchback is still great - doesn't compete with the 3 sedan and many people plea to get them (see this month's Roundel).
A 2 series makes no sense either. who wants to be #2?
