So who has down-sized from the 335/328 to the 135/128?
Or, who is considering trading/selling his 3-Series for the 1-Series?:iono:
I have a 335i Coupe which I certainly enjoy driving this GT with sporting intentions. After driving the 135i, however, I'm definitlely considering down-sizing to this little road rocket later this year. |

I'd do it in a heart beat. The 135i just gives off the E36 drive with E46 interior.. and I love it. No complicated interior and just a pure raw car to drive!!!

Seriously, coming out of a E92 to the E82 is just a huge difference. I have said before that the numbers being nearly identical between the 135 and 335 has nothing to do with it--the E82 just FEELS a lot more tossable and faster. More of a driver's car if you ask me. The E92 335 is a beast, sure. But it is also bigger and heavier, and that difference is very noticeable to me when driving both.

E90s just don't feel like a "3 series" back in the day. My last favorite 3 is the one I own, an E46. Don't get me wrong, I love the E92s but it can't be compared to a E82 in drivability. The 135i is an E36 with turbos!! and an obvious cosmetic improvement by about 99%

I feel like the E82, as others do, is a continuing legacy of the E46....

 She is by far the best sales person there. I'd have to say the most hardcore enthusiast there is Greg Heiman. I get along well with all the sales advisors. She sold you the 335i?

Going from a 2006 E90 to a 2008 E82 (soon I hope; where is that ship?).

No, but I will certainly speak to her about the 135i. My biggest concern, however, is what I will receive for the trade-in of my 335i. As you can tell from my moniker, I suffer from indolence and won't try to sell the 335i on my own.

the 1 just feels like what 3 series should be. I think they should have called the coupe 2 or the 3 series 4.

I'm doing the same. I'm getting the 135i and the 335xi sedan. We are downsizing from a 545i and a 325xi. Felt we didn't need the size of the 5 series and it would be fun to get something with more emphasis on the sport, although the 545i is no slouch. The 335xi will be our "sensible" car; the 135i will be our plaything.
Both cars are week 17 production, so they should arrive at the same time. |

I just made a post about this a couple days ago. I am in the same situation as you but I did sell my 335i and ordered a 135i I love the 335i but the 135i is just funner to drive and I am usually by myself driving anyways so for me I dont care for the extra room for other people to be comfortable I just want to drive with that grin on my face that everyone is talking about. For me the way I look at it is I am not downgrading at all I am upgrading the a better car for the driver and to me thats all that matters.

I have been also considering an E90 or E92 vs. the E82. I guess the E82 would be my type of car. I seldomly have passengers and want a fun car. My last 4 cars have been 4 doors and I really don't need the extra 2. I just love the look of the sport pkg with the E90/E92. I am waiting to purchase one of these in the early spring 09. If I order a 135i it will be loaded minus Nav, PDC, active steering. If I order an E90/E92 it won't have many options. Need to stay around $42k or so.
Looks like the E82 nicely equipped would be the best bet. ??? |
