How easy to adjust the KW V1 & V2?

How easy to adjust the height and rebound settings on the KW V1 and V2? Do I need a lift or go under the car or they can be adjusted from the top? Thanks for the answers in advance.

for height adjustment, it'll be much easier if you take off the wheels to do it.
as for rebound settings, the front is easy coz it's in the engine bay. The rear, you'll have to remove the carpeting (a lot to remove just to get to it) in the trunk to get to it. I'm trying to find a plastic cover that I can fit to the carpet and a long allen key to reach the strut top to make it easier to adjust the rebound.

Exactly correct, rear shocks need to be removed on V2s for rebound adjustment. Height is best with wheels off and the car lifted- the spanner wrenches are included for height.

Whoa...what?

On the KW V2s you don't need to remove the rear shocks to adjust!

On mine, When I installed I used a small hole saw and cut 3/4" hole in the trunk carpet above each shock tower. Then simply slide the allen key through the hole and feel for the fit in the top of the shock.

Now I can use an allen key and adjust all four shocks in less than 5 minutes. Simplistic and Beautiful. The KW V2s are an awesome setup.

Mark,

You can do that as well but like you mentioned, would need to remove the carpet or cut it. The shock needs to be compressed to make the adjustment.

Nick,

Are you sure the shock needs to be compressed to adjust on the KW V2?

I know on an old Ground Control setup I had for my e36 the rear Konis needed to be compressed then turned to change the feel. However I thought the rear KW V2s did not require any compression?

According to Nick above, he is citing that the rears need to be compressed before the rebound is adjusted.

This is news to me....I have never heard that and am skeptical.

On mine I cut a 3/4" hole in the top of the trunk liner above each shock and have simply adjusted the turn screw on the fly without ever taking the shock off and compressing it.

Can someone please clarify the proper way to adjust KW rebound? Compressed or not?

KW recommends that the rear be compressed to be adjusted however on the 135 you can adjust it from the top without removing the shock. This is how I have adjusted my own system.

Isn't it compressed by virtue of supporting the weight of the vehicle when installed?

i wonder if you could get an extension on the top of the shock so you can do the wrenching from inside the trunk, that way its a lil easier to get to

As long as you can reach it, you do not need to compress the shock like you have to with the Koni SA shocks.

I have changed settings with the car's weight on it with no issues.

I know there are people that make adjuster cables of some sort to provide for each setting changes while at the track. Cutting the carpet is another option.
