"maybe a dumb question but what is cdv delete"

It's a replace or deletion of the clutch delay valve in the hydraulic line for the clutch.
The OEM BMW part restricts the fluid flow slightly. The modified CDV or removed CDV eliminates the delay.

Thanks for the reply. I have cloth manual seats in my M3. I wish cloth was available here in the US on the 1.
