Yeah, I'll be scaring the locals on the beach with my pasty white, speedo clad, middle aged body this Sunday. Look out ladies! The White Pointers may be more interested in me...

It's taking about 40mins each way in the Hertz Camry so far. Not too bad. Accommodation in town is rather booked out for CHOGM in the coming weeks.
Edit. 70 mins to get home tonight

Haha watch out for sharks.... One guy got snapped up this week and gone missing. I don't want to know what traffic will be like when CHOGMs around.

Oh ok, I didn't know that. It's a new noise in my car. I've never noticed it before.

I have had other cars that do that (VW/Audi/MB) and it was something I noted was missing in my car when I first picked it up.

Booked in with Tony at Dwyers for an (unscheduled) annual oil and brake fluid change, and he also wants to check the injectors. Mine's an Aug 2008 build. Will report back on any work done.

Mine went into the dealership for a noise issue the other week. No injector changes on mine.

Mine just went in for a taillight LED and the injector campaign came up! They did the HPFP and 1 injector (under the campaign) 2 months ago or so, but they need to check them all again for the right part numbers. No charge last time and expect no charge again.

I really need to ring Auto Useless Classic and ask them how many months they're going to wait before calling me to come in and get the campaign checked on my 135. They told me months ago that my car needed doing, but that they "didn't have any units in spares" so they'd call me. Pfffft. I'm not likely to ever buy another car from that lot.

i called bmw and gave them my VIN. and they said i didnt need the injector swap.
when i took my injectors out. they where indeed the bad injectors bmw has been replacing. lame.
so i changed my injectors tonight, is super easy. much easier than i entailed. although aquiring a windows xp computer and doing the coding research was much harder.
460$ for 3 injectors, 100$ for inpa cable .. much cheaper than having a bmw dealership do the work.

how much have you guys paid total for 3 injectors ? parts and labor?

Hope you good folks don't mind a question that might be redundant... I went through the thread here, but didn't see an answers to this:

-- Is the injector campaign primarily an N54 issue? Anyone here with an N55 that's had rough injector noise?

Sorry to bump up an ancient thread, however am seeking clarification on the injector recall.

My car seems to have a leaky injector and am wondering, was the campaign voluntary i.e. you have to bring the car in for for them to change the injector if at fault. Or did they have list with VINs and they proactively contact you?

Just bring it in and if part of the batch number needing replacement they should do it for you

call your local bmw dealer and ask them if there are any recalls on your vin number. They will check the database, but most likely you will be up for the $ yourself!

Angry 135i injector torture

Just joining the Addict's forum, my 09, 135i has put up "Engine Malfunction" reduced power indicator. Only have 62,500 on it and CA at dealer says I need a complete set of injectors. This is really unacceptable performance for a supposedly brand that thrives on performance. I'm asking for the injectors to be inspected and p/n cross referenced against known series of defective injectors and not just by key code or vin ###'s. Any info that anyone has is welcomed.
