Window Tint - Is this ok??
Hi Guys,
Got my windows tinted from Solar Control Tint in Monroeville (10m outside Pittsburgh) - he tints the Steelers players' cars. He told me that the untinted parts in the following photos are a result of the window moving when he's tinting, disabling him from being able to tint the whole window. Please tell me if this is normal and what I should do. Thanks, Kanishk |

It's hard for me to see photos on my home comp, because my monitor is very dark, but from what I can tell in the first two pics, the jagged cut on the tint and the uncovered window look terrible. This is not normal.

Horrible tint job, there should be like maybe 1cm uncovered and thats because if the window is up that would be in the window jam, but that looks like you have about 3 inches in some places. I would demand a refund and go some place else.

That looks like a hack job. Was that guy having a seizure as he was tinting your windows? He claims the windows were moving The key to good windows tinting outlines are either computer cut or a steady hand. This guy had neither.
There are lots of tint pics (some up close) in the official DIY tint thread: http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=3093 Also, through searching I found this thread giving recommendations on places to get your BMW tinted in Pittsburg. Maybe the places in this thread are better http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=16655 Tinting isn’t the place to save a couple bucks so don’t go for the cheapest, go for the best. I’d get my money back and go to another place or make him redo the bad windows. |

Wholly crap. I think you need to go back to them and play hardball. I hate people making some dumb excuse. The window moved?????? What that hell does that mean? It is a new BMW. Not some 70's caddy or some crap. Take it back and tell them to fix it. That is bs. I too will be looking for a place to tint in Pittsburgh. I will NOT use that outfit! Thanks for posting it.

I think there's a good place on Saw Mill Run Blvd, any recommendations besides that?

I was told this place is pretty good. I don't know yet though. I have not decided on where to get it done. Part of me thinks I need to go out of state. I may head down to Florida this summer to mess with my dad's house and if I do, I will get it done down there. That place is a window tint capital.

Saw your signature and was just wondering what stuff you've figured out on the E90 that can be done? Just some interesting mods... thanks
