Custom Side Moldings
I discovered a source for painted body side moldings for the 135 & decided to get them. Helps avoid the bad door dings- some that dent wizard can't remove. Plus I like the way they breakup the broad smooth sides, though I'm sure some won't like 'em for the same reason. Anyway source is Sportwing.com if you're interested- they don't have a 1er molding yet but the 6 series fits perfectly. Not hard to do, though I confess I had a body shop friend do it (they do 'em alot) to be sure the spacing was right- wanted it to parallel the upper character line.

Get some glue-on tail fins, and you'll be all set!
(Seriously, dings do look like a probable problem; I'm just not sure this is the solution.)

I though about that too!! But I'm not sure I like the look! They look like they are positioned I bit High almost at mid door... they might look better in the were a bit lower on the door.

Parking well away from the knuckle-dragging slack-jawed hordes will avoid dings. Also, the walk will do you good.Sorry, but, the protectors are dreadful.

Looks Much Better than Dings
Nothing looks worse than door dings. This answer seems like a pretty good one. Probably need to try some different spacing to see what looks best.
Plus, I love silver on this car. Lots of people said this car wouldn't look good in silver. I'd just laugh at those posts because BMW has never built a car that didn't look good in silver! |

It's your car and the only opinion that really matters is your own.
However, the first thing I thought of when I saw it was my old Ford Taurus company car...

My thoughts exactly Izzodesh. Now that I'm more used to the moldings, the plain sides look a bit too empty. I had a 944 back in '86 and always was thankful for the moldings, which were factory but looked just like these. Incidentally, I feel your pain re: the deer. Back in Oct. 2006 I was driving a Va. country lane in the gold 325 (in the background of my pic) when a large buck jumped across the road. He almost made it, but the car clipped him with the right front fender. Broke the light & dented the fender, but just grazed the deer- he kept going into a field. Yours was much worse- lucky not a hit on the new 135 & no one hurt.

Not to my liking, but Im sure it will save you atleast once. People are jerks and don't own up to anything or even watch when they open their doors.....
My brother had someone open their door right into his door while he was in the car. The guy didnt even look when he opened the door. DING. My brother gets out and flips. The guy ran away  |
