wind whistle through air ducts?
2008 128i coupe 35K miles.
Does anyone else have a high pitched wind whistle in their car. It's most noticeable at slow speeds up till about 50-55 MPH. It does not change whether you have the windows cracked or sunroof tilted/open. It also does not change if you re-arrange or open/close the dash vents. I have noticed that if I put the HVAC on recirculate the sound almost all but disappears. Does anyone else have this problem!?!?! Have the car booked in at the dealership for this issue. Please advice if this happened to you. |

I get kind of a whistle when the fan speed is above 3 bars. It's constant, not a buffeting kind like you would get from a door seal or something. never thought much of it since the fan is usualy below that in normal operation, but I do hear it more now in the winter when the car warms up.

Thanks, I appreicate your response. Popped the hood and noticed I am missing the washer fluid reservoir cap. I wonder if thats causing the issue? I'll keep this thread up to date.

Just thought I'd post a follow up. Got the car back from the dealer today, they found the lower cowl popped out of place on the right side of lower windshield. Now that everything is back in place, the car is whistle free!
