Yeah, but I would have felt this way whether it was a 1M, a Corolla, or a Veyron. It's the fact that it's not just "a" car, but MY car. At least the SM's explanation was reasonable, so I guess I can sleep easy on that.

i doubt they cared about the kms on teh x1 loaner, they will just put it into their demo stock and sell it.
a mate is the service manager at audi, he used to be the service manager at bmw rushcutters bay. he would take the bmw demos home all the time. it was part of the companies policy to put kms on cars that cant be sold and then sell them as demos. i wasnt exactly sure how it worked, obviously there were subsidies and tax implications involved with this practice, i just found it weird that they would "devalue" a car to try and sell it.
he says there really wasnt much of a difference in quality and issues between audi and bmw.
