How many km\'s or miles would you expect to get out of a set of runflats?
This is a city driving 125i by my wife,so it's basic driving with no burnouts etc.I'm curious to know how many km's or miles should I expect from runflats?i know there are good and bad brands but what's the ballpark figure?

I'm at over 29,000km on the fronts and probably will get at least another 10,000km out of them. The rears are a different story....especially on a 135i. They only lasted just shy of 16,000kms. I'm 90% city driving.

BMW's with the sport suspensions will eat tires. It was the same on my old Porsche (rears would last 15K kms max - so burnouts either! Fronts would last twice that). It is possible you can get 40K kms... But I think it will be more like 25K kms(on the rears) or so. IF you want an eco car buy some eco-hatch. But this is a sports car and tires will wear. Dackel |

I got about 16,000 km (10,000 miles) out of my rears and the fronts had ½ the tread remaining from my original run flats. I got about 19,000 km (12,000 miles) to my Hankook V12’s on the rears and ½ tread remaining on the front. And that’s about what I got on my 3 series and Z4 with sport. I do about 4 track days a year and that takes a toll on the tires.

There is a great variation on RFTs - which tires do you mean?
I got almost 50,000 kms out of a set of Bridgestone RE 050A tires on a Z4 by rotating them and 35,000 kms from the rear Goodyear NCT5s on my 128i. Mostly highway use in both cases. Like they say, YMMV. Tom |

If it is city driving, at non highway speeds, I think you'd get 40k out of them. But that would be running them right down to the wear indicators. A number of factors, including road temperature, speed and how many turns per km are involved.

I get 10-12,000 out of a set of rears with no track days and I drive them to the cord. After that set I started tracking it so I just get used run-flats.
