power plug
Question. My 2011 128 did not come with the "ash tray/lighter" kit.
I would love to have another power plug (1 is not enough) Any ideas on installing one where the lighter would go?  |

There's a replacement panel available (aftermarket) for where the headlight switch is - it has a built-in power plug (cig. lighter). Can't recall who sells it, but it's an easy install for the panel. Not sure how hard it is to wire, but there must be a wire back there that you tap into.

I got a generic dual socket and mounted it just to the left of the ashtray, with the wire hidden behind the panel to an "add-a-fuse" on the fuseblock. I purchased a couple of BMW cigarette socket plugs, so when they are not in use are covered. It is all black and almost invisible.
