Maintenance reminder every time you start car?

Every time I start my car a picture of an outline of a car pops up with 13,000 under it and the warning triangle near the odometer turns on at the same time. Then both clear out right away. Is this standard? Reminds you even though you aren't anywhere close to the maintenance interval?

Garage List
2010 135i Coupe  [5.26]
I think you can reset this through the iDrive.

So does the picture of the car just mean in general there is something due in that many miles or is the picture of the car actually a specific item?

Yep, it shows up ever time. It's the mileage until your next oil change maintenance. I've looked through my iDrive and haven't found a way to turn it off.

I think Dackel did a DIY on how to access some secret menu and turn it off/reset your service stuff. Try to find that thread.

That's a different reminder for when you actually are close to needing service. What they're talking about is the standard blip that comes up every time you start the car. It's not a "service due" bulletin, just some info on how long you've got. Dackel's post was for resetting the service due if you did your own maintenance.

that picture is a generic "you will need yoru next service at X miles"

you can scroll into service and see what item is the lowest number (oil, front brakes, rear brakes, etc).

it will change colors as you get closer and turn red if you go over.
