you can have it dude (ie free), just get a courier to pick it up

Just a question, if the motor is going to be built forged internals etc, then wont running stock exhaust, dp's etc be sort of counter productive?
Not trying to wail on your build or anything, just saying wouldnt it be worth the extra approx 2k and have custom exhaust and dp's made?

As above, i closed the hatch with the badge in the gap, scuffed the hell out of it lol

Even the steering wheel has the badge stickered
Just not a fan of the badges i think it looks cheap/JDM imo. Installed them on a uncles 335i M-sport, and just the quality of them ect i just think it's a waste of money and doesn't look good. For the tail lights just get LCI Blackline's will look alot better/cleaner.
Not a fan of the cf badges? They look 100% factory, they're immaculate, especially the wheel center caps

Not a single defect or misalignment, the only difference is the front+rear badges have a coating on them, where the bmw ones are a single layer.. I guess because it's a material laid out

I'll order the blacklines tonight though

It's in no way 'cleaner' as instead of a glossy black smooth surface it's a factory 'busy' light, though... Better? Yeah probably

It's only for roadworthy JUST after install, get it all mod plated and registered legally, which requires all factory emissions devices fitted, and factory tune (not that they can really tell..) then.. Well catless dp's, bigger secondaries and a nice cat-back or something to that effect

Considering all aftermarket dp's are 3" to a 2.5 taper, it may be worth getting 3" dp's (custom like you said)?

And there's so many turbo upgrade options coming out in the next 6-12mth, there's too many to wait and choose now haha.

Yeah just not a fan of it all together. Yeah get some blacklines I'll be getting a set later on maybe too. Also in regards to the exhaust i think the 130i has the same as a 135i but man woosh is kind enough to give you for postage cost you may as well get it and have it spare. Can't wait to see this all done !

Mmm, they all say 'true 3" all the way' and i haven't seen any honest saying 2.5 taper or at the flange etc.

I want you to prove me wrong with this build! I just can see this build blowing the budget out of the water (unless you put the motor in stock). I did an engine conversion going on 10 years ago to a Honda (a popular conversion at that) and there were things that just popped up that weren't factored in. I tip my hat to you for doing this but you are in essence a guinea pig. You say that it has been done by another (pretty sure he's in Europe , with a lot more local support).
I'm not hating at all but just be prepared to see the budget blow out.

could happen lol, i never set a budget for it, i never will, it costs how much it costs, and i don't really care... if i cared it would be going in stock and i'd be happy with 400~whp until it popped sometime years later... or i'd be going cheaper still and getting a 90's japanese turbo something...

if i decide to get upgraded turbos straight away? yeah a couple $k.. proEFI? $who knows haha

i have every major part i need, it's just little replacement stuff which i've mostly priced.

yeah, i could drop it in right now without touching it and it would run fine, and it would cost me a bit under half what it would otherwise.. but i wouldn't trust it as much lol... it's all the little things that will make the cost go up i know, all the seals, gaskets, cam runners, just ridiculous little $10-$15 items that there happen to be 100 of lol

I'm also well aware that the cost i've worked out is only the 'just installed' cost and there's thousands and thousands of stuff i'll end up doing later >_<

ED: i forgot to add the benefit of this over a 135i... fresh engine, i could get a 100,000km odd N54 with turbos that are likely to go soon, or a freshly rebuilt N54.. with turbos that may or may not go soon lol
