Next-generation M3 not likely until early 2007
All news is not good news sadly...
BMW is likely to keep enthusiasts waiting for the next M3 a while longer, says Automobile Magazine. In its latest issue, the magazine suggests that the next M3 won’t debut until early 2007. That means that unless the company makes a last minute change of plans, the new M3 will be born as a 2008 model. Many people already expected this, but some of us were hoping to see it sooner. http://www.leftlanenews.com/?p=132

Since the beginning it has been said it wont be seen until mid to late 2007, the normal coupe still has to be launched in 2006 first
Question is will the sedan, touring and coupe versions be launched at the same time, or coupe first |

There is nothing unusually late about this;; that's how its been for some time. Usually at least a 6 month lead time after the Coupe is introduced before the M car comes out. So it will likely be out in early to mid 2007 as an '08 model.

They're just sheetmetal wrapped around a chassis with four wheels & an engine, after all. How beautiful can that be?
Besides, I didn't know these cars were in a beauty contest. |

M3 a coupe...335 a sedan?
Well, left lane news seems pretty confident that the m3 will be a coupe. But I remember reading in multiple threads that there was a very strong possibility that the M3 would emerge as a sedan first.
Maybe this is the niche BMW hopes to fill with the 335. The 335 will be the most powerful sedan, but the M will, as it is now, only be available as a coupe. Any thoughts or more recent information??? |

I am freaking out that BMW NA will do something stupid like wait and have the 335 engine just in the coupe. I guess I won't care if we get the 335d, especially in the E91.
