New 135i N55 with 7 Speed DCT and Twin Scroll Turbo

Just got what BMW Brisbane thinks is one of the first out to a customer today.

Awesome car. Likes and dislikes so far over the previous 135i. Some of these things are not new for BMW, but are over my last 135i.

LIKES
---------
- 7 Speedt DCT is awesome.
- New 9 inch screen is so clear
- iPhone can now have names FIRST, LAST even with voice control
- Split Screen awesome feature since last 135i.
- Extra buttons below FAV buttons for FF and RW
- Copy the Dual Zone settings from Driver to Passenger
- Comfort Access work better, more responsive
- Twin Scroll (TwinPower) Turbo seems a little more responsive

DISLIKES
----------
- Fixed buttons on steering wheel cant change what they do
- Air vents of sides have not gotten much better with movablity
- New SplitScreen cant have say have Entertainment when not being navigated, so its just blank unless you are using the nav.
- Night mode does not appear to be automatic
- Headlights still spray water over bonnet when cleaning widscreen
- Auto windscreen wipers still have to be turned on
- 7 Speed seems to sometimes not like being moved into R easily (This one is probably just me getting used to it)
- To move to the next song on iPod, you now have to hit the DOWN arrow on the steering wheel, not UP arrow.

Congratulations on having one of the first (if not the first) N55s in Australia. I know you've only had it for a few hours and I'm looking forward to hearing more about your experience with the N55. Mine's on order but only arriving in September

Can't wait until 5pm today

Dealer couldn't get the tint done in time so I'll drop it off again next week - need the car for tomorrow. Will be interesting to see if I can notice the supposed shorter shifts in the N55 6MT.

im confused cause i pick up my car in 3 weeks and i ordered the carbon interior with ashtray so i hope it all fits... and post pics!

Mmm I can't say I noticed, but then again I was only in a N54 for about 45mins 5 months ago. Definitely not long throws by any stretch of imagination!

Yup I got the ashtray as well!

my MY10 DEC 09 BUILD has split screen pro nav with voice control -

but no DCT , having owned a selespeed previously i can understand the excitement

Yes, I believe the screen is the same as the '09 model, but as stated, is obviously different to my previous '08 135i.

Voice is now NOT included with Pro Nav, and is not an option only, just like overseas models.

Why there is no rev lights on the speedo? Is that a manual thing?

Yep, no rev lights that I have been able to find on the DCT.

Not to say you need one

. It should automatically change gear and it has to be the fastest and best way when you are doing 1/4 mile drag.
