Black rims?

Last sunday, I went to Bavaria City Racing. It's a (free) demo-event in Rotterdam (Netherlands) with driftseries, Formula 1, classic cars and more and there were more than 600,000 visitors.

Anyway, they used a BMW 1 M as safety car. The car came from BMW Netherlands and had black rims. I saw the black rims before on the MotoGP Safety Car, but never on a street car. Something new? Can they be ordered of did the Dutch importer paint them black only for this car?

Of course I saw the black GTS-rims before, but I didn't know they could also be ordered on a 1 M.
Second question is: do I like it? I don't know. Standard rims look a bit 'fresher', the black rims look mean. But isn't the 1 M mean enough already?

I personally don't like them on the VO one, one an AW one they look great.
What I know they cannot be ordered as an option on the 1M, but can be bought as an (additional) accessory. Maybe a dealership can swap them for free on a new car when it arrives, not sure

Matt, although I'd rather call it half-matt.

To each his own. Those black rims look tough in a good way.
Although, if I were to put on black, it would be gloss black.
Black matte and satin finishes always seem like dirty rims to me.
