Need to Vent - Car is still in port waiting to be picked up
So I am not an expert in logistics, but for a finished good to be sitting at the port of export for over two weeks seems completely crazy. My car finished production on October 19th and it is still not on a ship. I have to go 1000 miles North to Bridgeport to pick it up and the longer they delay, the colder/wetter it is getting. Their little delay could be costing me a covered transport cost. Anyone know of reputable transport companies that they have good experiences with?

2 weeks at the port of exit is about average these days, and the tracking systems don't update as regularly once the car leaves the plant - what this means is your car may already be on a ship. Just be patient.

Just in case you don't know about the Wallenius website, I've attached the link below. Just type your VIN into the Cargo ID field and hit the track button. The BMW 800 number and website status are not accurate.

I dropped off ED on Aug 23. It just cleared customs the last week of October and has been waiting on transport for over 2 weeks now! It's been a brutal wait...

I think you're ignoring the fact that there aren't sufficient numbers of cars being shipped to justify a vessel leaving port every day. Would you rather they just drove it of the quayside into a boat that isn't there? ;-)

Patience grasshopper.
I can sound like master Po because my car has been sitting at port for at least a week longer than yours! I dunno, maybe PCD dates have something to do with the shipping schedule as well? Mine is 12/02 so, they might be loading other cars going directly to the dealers first.

You should be using a covered transport anyway. Here's a good company I've used...
High End Transport (305) 816-2255. Ask for Ernie.

The WW website is a little screwy at times. On the WW website, select the "Customer Centre" on the top menu and then select "Track and Trace". Enter your VIN there and then click the "Track" button at the bottom of the form.
