Oil pan gasket leak

During my last service, noticed the oil pan gasket was leaking a little. Covered under warranty and scheduled for a change next week.

I've only done around 33,000kms .. any reasons why a leak would occur this early? What are some of the reasons for an oil pan gasket leak? Anyone else with similiar issues

Thanks

Mine is being worked on now, only sent in to have radiator changed, while pan and gasket needs to be changed( including some special magnesium bolts which need to be shipped from Germany) thus car being in for over a week, good luck in fixing yours should be covered under warranty like mines, common problem on these cars, mines on 60k which my most companies(Audi, Porsche,Nissan) say require oil changes but bmw say sealed for life

Stuff happens. It's also possible that it's the rear main seal and not the oil pan gasket since they're in the same neighborhood.

Unfortunately it seems like the N52 and N54 motors are known for developing oil leaks in several areas. I wonder if BMW is using gaskets that are made out of recycled cardboard or something? Just kidding, but yeah it is unfortunate that we still have modern engines that can't go 100,000 miles without developing oil leaks.
