Gas and Oil Gauges
So I just picked up a 2008 135i and there's one problem that's been happening so far with the car. It drives perfect and there's nothing wrong as far as how it runs but anytime that I step on the throttle and give it a little bit of gas the gas and oil gauges go from wherever they are supposed to be at all the way to empty on the gas tank and then basically to the coldest temp for the oil gauge. After letting off of the gas and just coasting for a couple seconds I'll begin to drive normally again and the gauges go back to where they were originally at. If anybody would be able to give me some sort of explanation than it would be greatly appreciated!

It appears your car in fact came with the previous owners JB4 still installed. Congrats!

Its the hijack mode probably showing boost and something else. Look up jb4 wheel controls and with that printed beside you and the ignition on press down on volume and track on your wheel. Should show an orange square and take you to command mode where you can see what map and options (such as hijack mode) the previous owner was running when he sold the car.

The reason it only happens when you step on the throttle is because there is a setting that makes JB4 only hijack gauges when the throttle is above 50%. That would be a nice surprise to find on a new car.

Well it's all fine and good to get a free piggyback out of the deal, but I would strongly recommend taking the car to a good independent shop and having a thorough once over done. You need to find what else might be on the car, or if anything was improperly installed/uninstalled before you go further.
Congrats on the surprise JB4 though, it's a great piece of hardware. I hope it works properly.

Ya that's exactly what I was thinking on doing as well just to be safe and know what is actually done with the car. Everything to this point seems to run perfectly fine and nothing has gone wrong so hopefully all is good.

While on the JB4 and gauge Hijacking setting.
After mine goes into hijack mode, it doesn't seem to ever go back to regular. Is this an error, fixed in an update, actually how it works, just me being crazy and need to see it again? I have 4-1 and 2-1 which I understand to be the correct settings for boost hijacking and the only over 50% throttle mode. Input? |

N55? I had a different code because its a different chipboard I think but don't remember which it was off hand. Just make sure you are referencing the correct steering wheel controls for your jb4

Yeah N55 for me.
I didn't realize there was different settings for each? I thought just calibrating it to 135i (calibrating needle positions) was all that was needed. Link? Please educate me! I'm new to all this also. |

Looked promising, but then it just took me back to the link I posted, which showed 4-1 for stealth, which works, the hijacked gauge activates, then it wont go back to normal (normal fuel reading that is) like the OP said he was seeing.

Thank you, and thank you to the previous person that posted that other link too, I didn't realize that one was for the N55 also, I kind of just scrolled through and it looked the same.
