COBB: Looking for a manual N55 135i or 335i (E9x) for testing in Austin area...
Hey Everyone,
We are looking to hunt down a customer with a 2011 manual transmission (MT) N55 to test with in the Austin area. If you or someone you know is in the Austin area or willing to travel here, please let us know. We are happy to get a 135i or 335i. DFW customers may work as well. Who's getting excited. I am! Cheers, Rob |

Well, for years us N54 guys had to deal with N55 guys jacking our threads repeatedly asking for a N55 tune from Cobb and here seems to be their dream come true...with no reply yet.
Maybe us N54 peeps should jack this thread with questions about our N54 tunes...just to be mean...J/K I'm sure there's a lot of smiles and excitement in the N55 crew! Happy for you all. |

For me this is no longer an issue as I ditched the N55 & went to an N54 with Cobb AP - loving it btw I suspect there are other people suffering with the same issue though. http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showthread.php?t=638072

I'm not in Austin, but I'd love to help out. I've had two Cobb AP cars before this one and patiently waiting for an n55 AP.

for your other question: the reason for a manual transmission test is that the different transmissions of the car can have different OEM stock tunes and they are trying to make sure that this won't cause issue on a different type of transmission because different transmissions will likely have different capabilities (like in the case of the RX-8.) Since you sold your AP I assume you once had an AP. There is no guarantee that the current AP will work with the N55. They may update or change it. If they keep it the same, then buy one from the forums, I see them go for 600-700 here on the forums. Last edited by Venom; 11-18-2012 at 12:45 AM.. Reason: Added buying back a cobb unit |
