if you do not do your own filter and oil change than getting the performance intake is ideal because BMW will do everything for you plus will be covered under the warranty of the car.
If you do your own filter and oil change than it really does not matter what intake you get.

Would it make a difference on the 128 if I put in the axle back from a 135 of the same year? Will it even fit?

Not going to make a difference in power, but yes, it sounds different.

I attribute that loss to the injen more than the resonator delete and 135i muffler. Car feels a bit better with the eurobox in place of the injen.
Resonator was back in place when I went to that dyno day with chrisar. Still had the 135i muffler and Injen intake however. Will confirm when i have time to get a custom tune done sometime in the summer or fall.

It's either a. the Intake (which I think attributed to part of it, or b. The exhaust system - the transition between the stock exhaust and the new muffler,or even the muffler itself could impeed flow and cause a loss in power. Have a picture of the exhaust system? How many miles on the car? No valvetronic issues or vanos solenoid issues? |

I don't have a current picture from underneath. It's literally just the 135i muffler with a few inches of piping slid right over the end of the 128i piping. The rest of is is now factory 128i mids and then the Mapleridge catless headers.
The Injen heated soaked on the dyno. I don't think it was as big a difference in real world driving with airflow from the kidneys. Not too sure though.

Here is what's inside the 135i exhaust, thanks to whoever took the time to do that: http://home.comcast.net/~david.johns...MWMuffler.html According to his measurements (David Johnson?): "The full flow pipe is ~2.4" diameter, for 4.2 square inches. The valved pipe is ~2.3" diameter, for 3.8 square inches. 4.2 + 3.8 = ~ 8 square inches through the resonator, and out the tips. 5.7 in, 8 out. Not much of a restriction, except maybe the "S" bends." Murphy... I recently did an AA tune, k&n drip in filter, charcoal filter delete, and afe scoops. Very satisfied with power gains. Add header and will get you some more.

Getting the PE installed next week. Really looking forward to it
Next on list is the AA tune with the G5 Programmer. Too long to wait for my puter if I have to ship it back... Then maybe the BMW PS/PB combo to finish it off... |

DISA intake manifold and a Tune will add a good amount on their own, if you dont want to spring for the headers. I'm sure others with this mod will chime in. I was budgeting that around $1000 for the DISA intake and the AA tune with the tuner. Decided against it for now though do to non car related issues.
