Double Check me please
Going from stock:
18 x 7.5 Front 215/40 18 x 8.5 Rear 245/35 TO: Simply moving up a size on each should be fine, or should I go 2 sizes on width and drop the ratio? 18 x 8.0 Front 225/40 [or 235/35] 18 x 9.0 Rear 255/35 [or 265/30] Thanks for the help. Last edited by MLSavage; 02-22-2013 at 05:51 AM.. Reason: . |

This tool helps me a lot to see what tire sizes work best compared to stock sizes. 265/30 is shorter than stock by a decent percentage (+/- 3% is the rule of thumb window to keep tire diameters in from stock sizes)

I may be lowering the car very slightly. I can't afford much of a drop at all a the moment.

I went with 225/255's on stock wheels. I wish BMW would make a 9.5 wheel so I could move my rear wheels up front. I did notice for 2013 bmw has 8's and 9's option wheels for the 135i.
My new Michelin PS3’s 225’s & 255’s… http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showt...chelin+PS3%27s

I don't plan on lowering the car that much, I'm thinking .5" at most. My apartment complex and work have nasty speed bumps, I already bumped it on the frame with sports suspension!
Is is simply those aggressive offsets causing the problems? I am leaning towards the normal Alufelgen CS7 8 & 9" wide with 1 series offsets and have them powdercoated. Anyone have specific dealer recommendations for our wheels? The site that shall not be named has been somewhat helpful for me but some people have had issues with them in the past?

I have actually been surprised at how few people have the 261M wheels still on their car. I think I'm going to stick with the stock wheels, have them powdercoated satin black (~20% gloss) and then really upgrade the wheels in the future if I deem that necessary.
I do think I will go 225/255 through most people's recommendations.
