AWESOME!
I love the beginning with the music and the tree lines coming to a point.
This video was especially enjoyable on the big screen tv with the home stereo.

Thanks again for sharing!

@Andre: You need to be rallying! Seriously! Looks like a lot of fun. What did you do with the rest of the inhabitants of Holland? We NEVER have roads this empty. I have to move.

Great driving. With such limited room for human error, you either have balls of steal or a lot of money. Though it looks like a lot of fun, it still makes me cringe to see an amazing machine in the snow and salt. Very surprised how well mannered it is in the snow as well.

No, you're wrong. There is actually a third option you're not considering. It's called "know how". Hard to imagine, that this kind of driving is absolutely normal and no more risky than straight line driving is for you and me, but it is. If you have the training and experience that Andre has. I've had the chance to sit beside him, he coached me during a drift training, I've seen him drive from the outside as a spectator (both live and on TV). Andres capabilities are those of a pro. The amateur racers here (I am one too) know what that means and where the difference is. That is not exagerating, I'm not trying to kiss ass. All it is is stating a simple fact. He trains, trains and trains again. Tracks. Races. Luck has nothing to do with it. It would, if I did that, probably would if you did. But not in Andres case.

The word "luck" never came from me.

No, but "balls of steel" refer to bravery and in my understanding being brave has something to do with taking chances, being lucky. I may have misinterpreted your words. Me jumping out of an airplane with a parachute would require "balls of steel", because I have no idea, what the f*** I am doing. If a pro skydiver jumps, it's different. Sure, his chute can fail for whatever reason. Just as I can get hit by a truck simply crossing the street.

I don't care how good you are. There is still room for human error.

@gnpower: Sure there's room for error. But there's pros that can do things safely at a level that you and I would be attempting suicide at. If you ever get a first-hand chance to see a pro driving, you'll understand. I've had the chance to sit beside a multiple world rallye champion, a runner up in the touring car world championship and a couple of other professionals behind the wheel. If they drive at 90% risk, then they're safe and still 20% faster than I will ever be, even if I am trying my personal "maximum attack". And yes, you're right, we should all stop driving immediately because we could make a mistake and kill someone in the process.

Some short corners the first and the last drift are setup with the handbrake. The right to left drift not.

,

so in that first corner you are breaking slightly when turning out of the corner. How often do you find yourself using the breaks inside long drifts? How important is breaking vs throttle as control mechanism?

The OP is using a technique called the scandanavian flick in most of the shots.

You dont use the brakes inside a drift if you do it right, but the OP is using them to either slow the slide (on a decreasing radius turn) or for right-left transitions to bring the rear wheels back in contact on the road so you have the grip to make the transition.

So in other words you really only use the brakes to get yourself out of the drift, in drift you change your throttle application

Well, in first of the 3 clips I see the break lights come on, yet the wheels do not stall but continue sliding and he is breaking mid-drift without transition but more continuing smoothly into it's 2nd half. So I'm really interested in the OP's view on the balance between throttle vs break crtl for a long drift.
