Apply a "loud" start up ?

Hello 1er's

So recently saw a vid of a guy's (alex choi) m2 that got tuned by VF engineering, and they applied a "loud" start up function as shown in the video link below which sounds like a throttle blip but more consistent but also sounds good.

I am a noob when it comes to tuning and software so question being, is it possible for us to do the same thing through computer means by just dumping a tad more fuel or a computer throttle blip once we hit that start button

Happy to hear your thoughts

I had that in my vf tuned f80. They basically took the gts startup file and applied it to the regular f8x.

I think it would be awesome to have, they did it on the m2 so I imagine with some tinkering they could do it on our N55s. Just a matter of who does it first.

Someone asked MHD if they could include that as a future feature, will wait for their response.

Why would you want the car to be even louder on start. Must love your neighbors...

I think the N55 sounds loud enough on start up.

The "best thing" about his tune is the Exhaust Burble?

That dude has obviously never had an MHD tune. Set burble to "aggressive" and time to 5 seconds and you get exactly the same effect for like $100.

.... except most of us turn it back off after a week because it:
1) Attracts too much attention when you're driving like a hoon
2) (When configured as aggressive has he has it) Substantially increases EGT and can cause cylinder wash.

Yeah, I guess I meant cold start.

Get an exhaust or straight pipe. That'll increase the sound of the idle, if that's what you're looking for.

I have the BMW Performance exhaust and it's a little louder. Sounds just right to me, but I don't take my car to car shows. Not that there's anything wrong with that. A lot of people do it, I just don't happen to.

I thought the exact thing when I watched the video last week. Emailed MHD about it, but they did not get back to me.

I have a MPE on the car atm its loud when i floor it but the start up compared to a R32 golf just doesn't have that beginning "roar" like the M4 gts has so i guess thats something to work on. I only attend some from time to time it'll be great to have a head turner at start up then quietly drive off again

Driveway has a incline and neighbor across the street is a real asshole. I play golf early on the weekends and leave around 6:30. Always give it a few blips just to piss him off.
