Newly Ordered 1.
Well, you guys can't even begin to imagine how anxious i was watching everyone on the boards get their production number and some having their cars completed already.
I had some family business to take care of, so I was out of the country for a month. I got off the plane yesterday, and despite the plane ride and the jet lag started to call dealers near my areas to enquirer whether or not any are able to give me 500 below MSRP. After about 4 calls, i was finally able to get a dealer to confirm, and with this knowledge in mind I went to the dealer that i had my deposit with to give them a chance to have my business. Upon arriving, I was pretty much told that the price won't happen and that the other dealership is just jerking my chain. But having faith (and a little greed) I took my deposit to the competing dealership and low and behold I'm now waiting for my 135i: Jet Black, Sports Package, Coral Red Boston Leather. I have my production number and they said I would be in the first allocation. I find it a little hard to believe that i can get this after reading some thread on this forum, but I have got everything in writting, and with a production # in hand I'm pretty damn happy. That is all. Cheers!:drinking: P.S. I was made to make an 1000 nonrefundable deposit though. Even though I know i will be getting the car, it still makes me a little nervous. |

Congrats! and welcome to the OCD club of checking with BMW nearly every day to see how things are going. They must've had an initial allotment order that either fell through, or they had it remaining unsold.

The non-refundable deposit is bullshit. I guarantee you could get it back if you really wanted. It is just the way they play the game to prevent people from ordering that may not really be able to follow through.

Re: BMW of Fremont
Good for you! At least you got something off. I can't believe so many people are paying full price for this car. I know I won't pay full price because I've already received two discounted offers. The third dealer knows I'm not buying until I get to sit in and drive a 1, so his bottom line was "let's talk when you're ready, but everything is negotiable." Maybe it's just one advantage of living in California where there seems to be a BMW dealership next to every Starbucks.

That would definitely be an advantage, I have to drive 75 miles to pick up my bmw. It definitely puts me at a disadvantage negotiations wise.

I assume you are dealing with Jack Ingram in Montgomery. I stopped by there on 1/12/08 just to get to know them. Jason Wilson waited on me....didn't know a whole lot.:iono:

Once people start seeing these carts on the road, we'll be rolling billboards, and there will be a new wave of 1er purchases.
Right now, we're the first wave, like the ones who made the red water at the beginning of Saving Private Ryan. Bleeding edge all the way, baby! |

haha nice metaphor. I'm an ex- Car Sales associate, so i'm not gonna haggle on the price all day, i probably could've gotten a little more, but hey, why not give the guy some spending money, i know first hand how hard they work to earn their money.

I had to add it via IE. I usually use Firefox. Once it's loaded in there, I can check status in Firefox though. Maybe you're trying with FF too?
