Wealth, income and affordability poll
Regardless of perhaps being in bad taste or impolite or at least off-topic, I'm curious as what level of income you're at to be looking at the 1-series. It's a funny little vehicle in a peculiar niche. For example, are you coming "down" from a 3 or 5 series? Or coming "up" from a VW or Civic? Along with buyer demographics, this might be interesting.
Please be honest. |

Besides, it's the bigger picture (of the poll) that becomes interesting, not any one particular vote (except for the first few, but I believe most of you missed how I voted). |

I'm actually surprised at how many '100k-ers' are looking at getting the 1series.
To make this thread more interesting, maybe people who voted should state why they are looking at the one. For example, I'd love to hear at how many of the people making 100k+ are looking at the 1series as a second car. For me; I own an A4 avant. Looking to move onto something fun, nice, and in a low-er price range that I can keep the payments low (lease). Plus, I always had a love for the 1series hatch that never came to the US, so once I saw the coupe was coming, I was very pleased. |

I have always stated this, the 1er coupe reminds me of my first e30 325is. I owned that car for 11 years and I just loved that car. I want something modern that reminds me of that car. I can afford an e92 335i but I have never paid over $35k on a car and when you option out a 335i with just leather and the sport pack, you are pushing $45K. When I can have a car for about $35-37K with the same engine and options, why pay the extra $8k? And I will admit it, I just think that the 1er looks cool.
