Probably your week of production. I still haven't talked to a rep to find my production week.

Thanks for the quick answer...I never understood this whole production week thing... is there something online that states what weeks are what production # weeks and how I could calculate when my car would then enter production?

What production # is current now. How long does it last?

Week 1 is the first week of the month. They simply correspond to the week number of the calendar year, and is BMW's projection of when your car will be completed. When your order goes through, BMW assigns your car a production week. A few days before your car enters production, an estimated completion date will be given to you which is a specific date, i.e. mm/dd/yy.

Edit: missed out on the second part of your question. It is currently production week #17 and cars can take the full 7 days to complete.

So just by counting up the weeks, week 30 = week of july 20 2008?

So how long did it take...

I signed the papers to put the order through on the 14th. I've checked with my dealer twice, but they say they don't have a production number I can use to track the car yet. How long did it take anyone to get this?

It varies on the situation of your dealer. Some have an allocation slot they can use right away and therefore a production number and some will put your order in the order bank till a slot becomes available or till if they trade allocation slots with another dealer.

I got mine the same day I put my order in because I checked first if he had a slot available before I signed papers.
