Best Cargo Tray to Keep Electronics Safe?
Does anyone have a suggestion on the best cargo tray to keep liquids from getting on the electronics under the rear floor?
I have a 2013 BMW 135is Coupe and I'm looking for something that covers everything and also has a lip on it. It looks like the "WeatherTech (40623) Cargo Liner" might do it, but I'm not sure if it will fit correctly. Suggestions anyone? -Sam |

If you do, please let us know how it looks.
I bought floor mats for a Saturn Vue from them, and they were anything but custom fit. They were OK, but definitely generic. I ended up thinking maybe they don't quite have everything... and a 1-Series being a lot more rare may be another vehicle where they just have something that sort of fits and call it good enough. |

Will do. However, I will say I've ordered WT products before for other applications. I have yet to come across an item that was not vehicle specific. I know they do sell semi-universal or trim to fit mats as well. Could this be what was ordered for the Vue?
Also for reference, this is the item I'll place an order for - http://www.weathertech.com/bmw/2008/...e/coupe/ev/no/ |

The picture of the 135i trunk liner sure does look perfect, I am guessing you'll be fine. Sweet. |

I ordered the standard cargo mat from BMW. Should be here by Friday.
I wonder if there's another way you could cover the electronics without worrying about them getting too hot? They're already underneath carpet and the such. My guess is you'd only have to cover them from the top and sides and you'd just leave the bottom open for ventilation? -Sam |

ECS has them. I'd expect the fitment to be spot-on. I wouldn't worry much about heat. It's hardly going to affect dissipation since the well that's holding the electronics is also plastic.

BMW makes a nice cargo/trunk mat. I have one for my 135i. I like it.
WeatherTech might be better for lots of spilled liquids liquids though(IF you do that often ?)... I remember, I had WT mats for my Porsche 944 Turbo... I spilled a Big Gulp... those WT mats held 1 liter of soda. It was unreal. Its bc WT uses all those dividers and channels, that holds in liquids or snow. Dackel

I've always used the BMW cargo mat in all my BMWs, but I can't recall ever spilling anything in the trunk (of any car, not just my 21 years of BMW ownership).
Is this a common occurrence? |
