Not letting me downshift. (Automatic)
I have a steptronic 128i. When I put it in sport the shifter doesn't let me downshift. But the paddles do it. Anyone have this problem? And anyone know if the problem is covered by cpo warranty?
Note: I had just got the car back from the dealership after having an ac evaporator leak. So they had to take out my entire dash.

This is a common issue on the 3 series, would assume it is on the 1 as well as it's the same parts.
I fixed this for a buddy - just remove the centre consol completely, then get in there with a soldering pen and electrical tape. The wire is likely severed and you'll need a new wire to bridge it. I used an 18AWG wire if I remember right, had a ton laying around. Match the AWG or go thicker of the original wire. Tape it up or heat shrink over it when done, route it out of the way, re-assemble. If you're handy with soldering it's a breeze.
