---BMW 135i Muffler Delete---

Friend just got a muffler delete on his 135i must say it sounds pretty sick. (Whistles like a steam train!)

Let me preface this by saying that I am a BMW tech, and have been for 12 years now. The drivers manual specially cautions against revving your engine the way your friend was doing in the video for a reason. Doing so can you can cause friction wear on the cylinder walls, piston rings, and pistons. Additionally it can cause excess gas to go into the exhaust and ignite in your catalitic converter. Gas ignition in your exhaust melts the ceramic emission filter, which then makes the car run like having potatoes in the tailpipe. Even though the car isn't in gear, the gears still will turn, so if you rev it up, it also can cause gears to wear down. So that's my point, and I'll state again I've never revved my engine that way, and I won't. If you cosign on treating your car this way as if it's no big deal, I feel sorry for the sad individual that mistakenly purchases your car. Just my 2 cent.

Wink

That's smart...instead of spending money on an actual exhaust; suspension parts, and rims, destroy a perfectly good engine so that you can instead spend your money replacing it?

No biggie, if you didn't know you could damage your engine now you do, and that's what we are here for.

Thanks for your concern! Also this isn't my 135i. It's a dealer loaner, we just chopped off for the exhaust for this video.

I just caught this, where can I find this in the manual? I'm really concerned about my motor because I tend to rev my car at every stop light to get the attention of moms and dads that could care less about my car. (This is my way of telling them I'm better than them)
