Looks and sounds good! I was wondering what the loud whistle was when you romped it? You hear everytime in the videos. I know its not wind noise but its the same pitch inside and outside.

Whistle is coming from the exhaust. I am running a stock intake with a high flow filter and a JB3. Thats all the mods.

hmmm weird... is it noticeable from inside the cabin or if i where standing outside and you passed by? i don't think mine makes that sound, it reminds me of the whistling exhaust tips that people where welding on their exhausts a few years back in the bay area LOL WHOO WHOO!!!

Well, I guess it just had to break in. Now the whistle is gone. Go figure...
I am however, having second thoughts about modifying this car. Although the sound is amazing, and reminds me of the Nismo system I had on my 05 Z, I guess I liked the car quiet. I mean, it really is not anywhere what you can call loud, but I dunno. I think I might consider putting back on my stock silencer. Call me crazy. |

hmm i remember listening to BSM135s clips and noticed a whistling as well.... maybe its due to the design of that resonance tube?

naww man mine don't have a whistling sound at all, i think you are referring to the burble it makes after letting off the throttle. if you listen to all the aftermarket exhausts you will also hear the same burble, mine was just more pronounced because it was filmed in the closed end of my garage and the camera's mic was pointed directly at the exhaust.

I don't know what kind of whistling sound that you guys refered to even after playing the video clip 10 times. I had aFe exhaust on my car and did not notice any whistling sound but roar, roar, roar ...

Looks to me like a fancy term for "we needed a really long hanger to fit the factory location so we welded this extra tube on". I'd be interested to see if it's actually even part of the exhaust path, or if it's just welded to the outside of the pipe. Not that I think it's a big deal either way. The piece looks good to me, but I can't imagine this not being pretty damn loud on a car that already has catless DPs. I'm still running the stock exhaust on mine, and I love the way it sounds when the butterfly opens up at WOT through an underpass, but I wouldn't want to live with that all the time. Too much attention for my taste, but to each their own. |
